CASE #1: ENGINE MONITORING
DEVIATIONS IN SPEED PERCENTAGE
MAIN AND AUXILIARY ENGINE MONITORING. In April 2015, COACH recognized a significant deviation in the speed percentage of a chartered vessel. A thorough examination detected an excessive auxiliary engine consumption which superficially had a positive effect on the vessel’s speed percentage. However, the vessel’s reporting showed no deviation in the total amount of energy consumption. COACH analyzed the consumption and eventually concluded that the onboard reporting had not been representing the actual engine energy consumption. The operator and vessel was notified about the increased consumption, where after the engine levels returned to normal.
TRUSTWORTHY, DILIGENT AND TIMELY. COACH vessel performance monitoring gives the ship operators a sincere overview of energy consumption and general vessel performance. COACH ensures correct reporting which enables the operator to make sound and sensible decisions.
